Butterflies, ‘Blogging Schedules’ and an Invitation to Help My Bookshelf Explode

Hey there!

Before you start kicking and screaming and telling me I’ve been Bad Blogger# 1, let me explain, okay?

I have, with expert guidance from my mum, come up with my personal blogging schedule. I’ve been that horrible person who didn’t read all those awesome posts that came up this week and went away on a supposedly eternal hiatus but NOPE THAT’S ALL MY SCHEDULE’S FAULT. Guess why? Because I am going to be posting on Sundays only. That means all blog work will be done on Sundays, including posting, commenting, reading other posts and whatnot. Wow.

I permit you to miss me.

Alright, so you’re not liking this news very much. How did I know that? Well… Lucky guess, I think.

But hey, I’m going to make up for that. Today I’m going to share my first ever graphic freebie, and that’s pretty exciting.

I’ve been playing around in PS like crazy these days, and I made some watercolor butterflies using some commercial use galaxy textures I downloaded for free and… Well, why not? Here’s a glimpse at what you’ll be getting in your download:

DON’T UNDERESTIMATE THE WORK THIS TOOK, GUYS. I started off sometime in the evening was working on these guys until dinner and a while after.

If you think you might put them to use, please visit my Free Stuff page and download the graphics using the link provided.

So there we are with all the fancy freebie releases and schedule announcements and things. It’s time to get readerly.

I began reading Percy Jackson, like, this month. And I realised that I should’ve done that AGES ago.

After realizing that Harry Potter isn’t everything, and just because it’s awesome doesn’t mean it’s the only awesome thing in the world, my TBR has been growing rapidly. I am waiting to get started with Six of Crows, Wildwood, The Hunger Games, Narnia, Divergent, The Maze Runner, Magnus Chase, The Kite Runner, The Book Theif, The Mysterious Benedict Society, The Kane Chronicles, Heroes of Olympus and a bunch of other stuff that’ll go on forever. I’m such a bookworm. I haven’t even read all those yet.

Life’s much more exciting now that I have an entire bookshelf waiting to fall over me. Anyway, I’d love recommendations! Tell me some of your favourite books, and I’ll be sure to check them out. 😉

Today’s not really Sunday, but my schedule will come into action from next week. Since there’s not much more to say now, I bid you adieu! Hopefully, I’ll be back next time with a longer, more thought-invoking post.

Sayonara, for now!

  1. My favourite books are ‘Artichoke Hearts’, ‘Jasmine Skies’ and ‘Red Leaves’ all by Sita Brahmachari. I also love ‘Swallows and Amazons’ and ‘Anne of Green Gables’. Michael Morpurgo has written some amazing ones too. Oh, ‘The Child’s Elephant’ by Rachel Campbell-Johnson and ‘Where You Belong’ by Gillian Cross. Do you have any recommendations for me?

    1. I’ve read Jasmine Skies! 🙂 I’ve heard of Anne of the Green Gables. Maybe I should try that. Hmm… I’m not sure, but maybe you’ll enjoy The Song from Somewhere Else by A.F Harrold. I posted a book review before. Thanks for recommending those!

      1. Really!? Arghhhh! I LOVE it so much. What did you think? Artichoke Hearts is actually about Mira when she’s a bit younger. It’s just as amazing. Yes, Anne of Green Gables is so good. You should read it. Okay, I’ll look that one up soon.

      2. Uh huh. Jasmine Skies was great, but I didn’t get to read much from the author since that.
I’ve grabbed a book called Stormchaser from the library, and I think it’ll be good. I don’t quite know for sure, because I haven’t started yet. Have you read it? I’d like to know if you would recommend it.

      3. Personally, I didn’t enjoy Anne of Green Gables, though. I did not read more than 2 pages, and then I returned the book to the library.

  2. Ooh, your new blogging schedule sounds great! I hope it works out perfectly for you! 😃

I’m a super teeny bookworm, too. But I loved the Dear America series and the Texas Heroine series… when I was eight-ten. 😂 I really should expand my reading horizons beyond my current TBR… the Girls of Many Lands series.

Okay, idk what I was thinking when I started this comment. I have zero recommendations for you and feel bad about it. 😂

    1. Thanks! I’ve had a lot going on lately and so I thought I should go for a less hectic blogging routine. Yeah, I hope it does too.
Gosh, Madi, you think I’m eight-ten? *gasps* Okay, I admit, I was a really fanatical reader back then, except my reading used to be centerd around, what was it again, Geronimo Stilton? I am sorry to say I despise of it at the current moment. XD
Oh, and I have no issues. I’ve got a fat TBR right now and I really need to get past it. 😛 Thank you for commenting!

      1. Same! I’m having to work on my blogging schedule, too. 😂 It’s a… work in progress. And still hectic.

Of course I do! 😈 Just kidding. 😄 And oh my goodness, same here. I loved Geronimo Stilton when I was eight. 😂

Oh phew! 😅 Good luck on that TBR! 😄 You’re welcome! ☺️

    1. Hey, you know what? When I started off I was super shaky and only managed to somehow center the text right and do other random, pointless things, but I got the hang of it and now I can’t do with ANYTHING but PS. It looks creepy to most people but it’s AWESOME. 100% guaranteed. You can also do crazy stuff like put things on t-shirts and make text look like paper cutouts and paint blotches. The usual. 😉

      1. I work the same way… am comfortable doing something but then try something new and won’t work in anything else but that thing. 😂

OKAY THAT’S IT. I HAVE TO TRY PS NOW, MUKTA. Now I just need to convince my photographer sister to give me a tutorial. 😂

  3. Psst, Crooked Kingdom is #2 of Six of Crows! But you might know that already… XD

THOSE GRAPHICS ARE SO AWESOME!!! And dude you MUST get started on PJO! I love it so so SO much. ❤ ❤ My favorite series that I recommend are Six of Crows (duh — also I just reread parts of CK last night and 😍), Legend, The Young Elites, The Lunar Chronicles, and Shades of Magic (adult). AGH I COULD TALK ALL DAY ABOUT BOOKS. XD

    1. Whoops, my bad. 😛 Oh, and thanks for the recommendations and stuff and hey YOU RUN A BOOK BLOG I KNOW THAT SINCE PRETTY MUCH FOREVER. XD

  4. Wow, those butterflies are awesome! And don’t worry, I don’t blame you. I post on Fridays and Sunday for the personal blog, and Wednesdays/Saturdays for the dolls.

  5. MUKTA, I WILL MISS YOU EVER SO MUCH. *wails* (You can’t blame me. You permitted, remember?) And those butterflies are absolutely gorgeous! You are soooo talented. No, but, no, but, no, wait… you haven’t read the Hunger Games yet? But…what? *re-reads 110 million times* Okay. Oh well. I haven’t read most of the books you mentioned either. Let’s miss out on everything together. x

    1. AAARGGHHH EMMA! YOU’RE BACK! Okay, so I know you posted about that, plus the Artsy post, but I’ve been really bad and haven’t read them, like WHAT? I know, I’m horrible. *sniffs* But I’m staying in track with your future posts, okay?? I’m going to be good.
Hey, you’re the super-duper book chomper. I’m the not-so-super-duper girl who has been stuck with Harry Potter since fifth grade. Don’t blame me if you’ve read all those books a million times. XD

      1. YES I AM. Ooh, you’ve been bad, haven’t you?? But it’s okay. I forgive you. 🙂 I’ve really been bad too, because this year I just haven’t read! My super-duper book chompiness has been very disappointed with me. xx

  6. Hi Mukta,
